1. Functional requirements
When choosing LED column lights, first clarify the purpose and functional requirements of the lamps. Different uses require lamps of different specifications and designs.

If you need to illuminate a long path or pedestrian street, then choose lamps with a larger beam angle and higher luminous flux (lm). If it is just simple garden lighting, choose lamps with a smaller range.

Such lamps are usually designed to be anti-theft and anti-collision, and can withstand the impact of traffic, pedestrians or bad weather. When installed on pedestrian paths or public places, it is best to choose lamps with guidance functions to ensure that pedestrians can clearly see the road boundaries.

Decorative design: LED column lights are not only lighting tools, but also part of landscape decoration. It is crucial to choose lamps according to the design style of the installation environment. Modern LED column lights are usually simple and have smooth lines; while traditional or country-style lamps may be designed to be classical and warm. 2. Light source type
The choice of light source type is crucial to the lighting effect. The light source of LED column lights has a variety of different color temperatures and brightness configurations. Choosing the right light source type can enhance the overall atmosphere of the environment.

Color temperature selection: The color temperature of LED lamps is usually between 2700K and 6500K. Warm white light (2700K-3000K) is suitable for residential areas, gardens and other environments, and can create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Power consumption: When choosing LED column lights, pay attention to their power consumption (usually expressed in watts W). Low-power LED lamps (such as 5W-15W) are suitable for small-area lighting, while high-power LED lamps (such as 20W and above) are suitable for lighting wide areas.

Lifespan and maintenance: LED lamps usually have a lifespan of 30,000 to 50,000 hours, which means you can use them for several years or even more than a decade without having to replace the light source. In addition, LED column lights usually adopt a closed design to reduce the ingress of dust and moisture, greatly reducing the need for maintenance.

4. Protection level
For LED column lights used outdoors, the protection level is very important. It ensures that the lamps can withstand various weather factors, such as rain, wind and sand.

IP protection level: The IP (Ingress Protection) protection level consists of two digits, indicating dust and water resistance. For example, IP65 means dustproof and can withstand water spray from any direction. IP66 and IP67 protection levels provide higher water resistance and are suitable for installation in harsh weather environments.

Corrosion resistance: For lamps located on the seaside or in humid areas, it is particularly important to choose LED column lights with corrosion resistance. Generally, LED column lights with stainless steel or aluminum alloy shells are more corrosion-resistant.

Installation tips for LED column lights

1. Choose a suitable installation location
When installing LED column lights, make sure that the lamps can effectively illuminate the required area while avoiding being blocked by objects or obstacles.

Environmental factors: When choosing an installation location, take into account factors in the surrounding environment, such as trees, buildings or fences, to ensure that these objects do not block the light source.

Ground flatness: The stability of the lamp is very important. If installed on an uneven ground, it may cause the lamp to tilt or be damaged, so you need to ensure that the ground is flat.

Power connection: When choosing an installation location, make sure there are enough power access points. If you need to extend the cable or adjust the power cord, make sure to use waterproof cables.

2. Determine the installation height
Lighting height: The height at which the LED column lights are installed affects the lighting effect. Generally speaking, it is more common to install at a height between 30-60 cm. This height is suitable for most courtyard, garden and path lighting.

Adjust the height according to the function: If the lamp is mainly used for security lighting, you can choose a higher installation height to cover a wider range; if it is used for courtyard or landscape decoration, a lower height can create a soft atmosphere.

3. Installation steps
Preparation: Make sure all accessories are complete and installation tools (such as screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.) are ready. Check the product manual to ensure that each step meets the manufacturer's requirements.
